Overview

So far this semester, you have identified a problem, explored the design space, selected a promising design, and iterated on that design. Now you need to communicate your design and your design process. This will be accomplished through a website and a video prototype.

This assignment is worth 15 of the 60 points of your course project. The following are the stages that you need to complete for this assignment:

PartDue Date
4A Video Prototype (7 points)Fri., Dec. 9 @ 11:59 pm
4B Website (8 points)Fri., Dec. 9 @ 11:59 pm

Project Description

The following are the brief expectations for each part:

Part 4A – Video Prototype

Due Date: Fri., Dec. 9 @ 11:59 pm

The goal of this part is for you to create a video that communicates your design to a broad audience.

Essentially, you will demonstrate how to use your design. Working from your prior storyboards (or new storyboards that you deem necessary based on feedback, usability tests and heuristic evaluations), create a video that illustrates your proposed design.

You need to use your paper prototypes and/or digital mockups to convey these tasks. You need to demonstrate the transitions from different interface options and menus for your two main tasks.

Be sure your video conveys all of:

Add narration while demonstrating your tasks on the digital mockups to provide additional information and clarity.

Some software you could use are:

There is other software that you could use – the above are just some examples of well-known software.

Deliverable

Your video must be at most 2 minutes long. It is critical that your video be short enough to remain engaging while delivering its content.

Contributions

Your submission must also include a team contribution statement as an additional page in your submission, just as in previous parts. This will be used to adjust your grades in case of unequal participation.

Submission

Ensure your video is in a portable and standard format (e.g., H.264 in an MP4 container). Ensure your video is less than 50MB in size.

You will submit through Blackboard.

Grading

This will be graded on a scale of 7 points:
